Some Facts to Know Before Traveling to Mumbai

Some Facts to Know Before Traveling to Mumbai

India is the second biggest country in the world in terms of population. Due to which Mumbai is also one of the most populated cities. People from all over India move to Mumbai to live a better lifestyle and to earn money because of the presence of so many industries in Mumbai. Don’t expect that Mumbai is a clean city. It is the dirtiest city although the government started so many moments to clean the city all go in Vain. You see trash, animal feces, and dirt everywhere. There are so many richest and millionaires are living in Mumbai but there is a big community that lives in slums and living their lives. Even some people sleep on pavements at night

I will discuss some things about Mumbai that anyone should before going there.

Limited Space to Stay:

Mumbai is the home to million people. Almost more than 20 million people are living in Mumbai. There are not so many spaces left in Mumbai for people because many people migrated to Mumbai from all over the country. People are living at the top of the buildings, slum areas, tents, under bridges, and even in burial grounds. It is the most expensive city in case you want to buy any property. Property is a big concern in Mumbai. Don’t expect so much and always adjust your space expectation from Mumbai.

Nothings Goes on Time:

If you are following a schedule and do everything on time, then trust me Mumbai is not your place. Mumbai is always late. Nothing goes on a specified time. But it is very common and people are aware of Indian standard time and Indian Stretchable time. It is very common among people not to be on time. Trains are late, buses are late, meetings are late but this is all the part of the culture in Mumbai. Don’t feel bad to be late in Mumbai.

Street Foods:

Indian food is tasty and delicious. Indians eat a lot of spicy foods. People in Mumbai are close to each other. They love to eat street foods while gossiping with each other and reading the newspaper. Street Food is cheaper and a lot of community can easily afford it. The food street is known as “Khaogallis”. Pav bhaji and bhelpuri are the favorite food of people in Mumbai. They love to eat food along with coriander chutney. Students at the off time of their school and colleges come to eat these stalls and love to eat Sandwich with heavy ketchup.

Art in Taxi:

People are so emotional and possess a lot of feelings. If you have the experience to travel by Taxi in Mumbai; you got to know that every taxi poetry and art has some story and reflects the thoughts and experience of taxi drivers. It will reflect all the joy, struggle, aspiration, frustration, mini-lights, and mini-fans. On the wind-screen name and different slangs are written. The driver community is more experienced as they spend all day communicating with people and moving on Mumbai Roads. An impressive sentence I heard from a sentence in Indian movie about Mumbai which is so true “never trust two things in Mumbai; Love and weather”.

Beware of Eating Buffalo Meat in Mumbai:

Buffalo is a sacred animal in Mumbai. If you are caught eating a buffalo or slaughtering a buffalo it will take you to the jail. There are strict laws about slaughtering and eating Buffalo and in case of violation, they will punish you and sent it to jail for five years. Few Indians like RSS are extremist and they will take serious steps in case of slaughtering. This is the reason you won’t find beef meat in areas where RSS have a stronghold. All the hotels serve chicken instead of Beef in Mumbai.

Understand the Local Language:

To smoothly communicate with people in Mumbai and to understand and decode their words, you must have to learn some words. If someone is saying “No,ya’ it means no, and “Ya,no” means yes. “Bhai” means a resourced person and a popular person among locals due to personal skills. “Boss” is used for many people like an employee, waiter, driver, friend, and even enemy. Therefore, it is important to read the context perfectly.
