1. Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) Producer Gary Kurtz actually became Star Wars' savior for rescuing the situation beyond the budget from 20th Century Fox. To save money, the Millenium Falcon ship was actually made from old parts of cars and airplanes. Initially, George Lucas wanted to include hundreds of Wookiee characters. At that time, Star Wars was still a new name and a large number of actors to play alien roles were way too expensive. Kurtz decided to shrink the team so that Star Wars could overcome the financial crisis. In the end, the film crew could only focused on Chewbacca and he quickly became a symbolic character of the brand.
