Anti-aging cream, also known as anti-wrinkle cream, is a skin care product intended to smooth wrinkles and restore youthfulness to the skin. Popular ingredients in the teen makers include retinol (vitamin A), vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and peptides. These active ingredients have a positive effect on mature skin - they smooth the surface of the skin, strengthen the skin barrier and help with pigment spots. The result is younger-looking, smoother skin that's hydrated and glowing
Which anti-wrinkle cream is the best?
Admittedly, it is not easy to get an overview of the ingredients and potential effectiveness of products in the wide range of products on offer. That's why we delved deep into the anti-wrinkle creams and found and checked the five most popular products for you:
1. Time Filler Mat by Filorga
The Time Filler series from the French manufacturer Filorga is probably one of the most popular anti-aging creams. Time-Filler Mat Creme is a light gel-cream for day and night, designed to refine the complexion and reduce wrinkles. Due to its matting properties, it is particularly suitable for oily and combination skin.
Ingredients and effect:
A hyaluronic acid and Matrixyl Synthe-6 complex is designed to stimulate collagen production in the skin and plump it up from the inside out. In addition, the active ingredients gently peel the skin and thus ensure a smoother and fresher complexion with long-term use.
2. Revitalizing Supreme + by Estee Lauder
Estée Lauder's Revitalizing Supreme + Anti-Wrinkle Cream is also one of our favorites. In addition to great packaging, the anti-wrinkle cream also has valuable ingredients.
Ingredients and effect:
The manufacturer relies on Moringa, extracts from the horseradish tree, also known as the miracle tree. The antioxidant substance is said to protect the skin from free radicals and thus preserve the skin's natural vitality. Vitamin C derivatives, plumping hyaluronic acid, soothing cucumber extracts and invigorating caffeine complete this anti-aging cream. With long-term use, the skin should become firmer, more vital and fuller.
3. Lifting Cellular by Babor
According to the manufacturer, Barbor's Lifting Celluar Cream is all about skin rejuvenation. This anti-aging care is said to have a moisturizing, smoothing and firming effect and thus prevent skin aging.
Ingredients and effect:
Ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and marine collagen are said to contribute to a visible reduction in wrinkles. In addition, a tripeptide solution should activate the skin's own collagen production and thus lead to firmer skin and a youthful, plump complexion.
4. Retinol Performance Cream by Cosphera
With its Retinol Performance Cream, the German manufacturer of nutritional supplements and cosmetics Cosphera has a vegan, animal-free anti-aging care product range that does not contain mineral oils, silicones or microplastics. The care relies on retinol as the main active ingredient against skin aging.
Ingredients and effect:
The rich cream not only has a firming effect due to the retinol it contains, ingredients such as macadamia oil, elder seed oil and shea butter lock in moisture in the skin, the hyaluronic acid it contains plumps it up and vitamin E strengthens the skin barrier. All in all, this cream is good for overall improvement of the complexion. Since retinol makes the skin sensitive to UV rays, we recommend that you also use sunscreen on your face during the day.
5. Resist Anti-Aging Intensive Repair by Paula's Choice
We're obviously fans of Paula's Choice skincare. Resist Anti-Aging Intensive Repair Cream is my personal favorite to combat the first wrinkles and is an integral part of my beauty routine. The fragrance-free cream provides dry skin with intensive moisture, retinol fights signs of skin aging.
Ingredients and effect:
I prefer to use this anti-aging care product at night so that it can take full effect without any make-up on top. Contained niacinamides strengthen the skin barrier and smooth the complexion, jojoba oil soothes tense skin. Since I've been using it, I haven't had any more problems with dry patches and dead skin. The retinol concentration is relatively low at 0.2 percent, which makes it no less effective, but very well tolerated.
When should you start using anti-aging creams?
There is no concrete and only true point in time when you should definitely start anti-aging. It is usually said that from the mid-20s, the skin slowly loses moisture and facial expression lines can develop into permanent guests on the face. Therefore, our recommendation is to enrich your skin care routine from the age of 25 with ingredients such as vitamin C and retinol to counteract premature skin aging.
From the age of 30, the general loss of moisture is accompanied by a loss of firmness, because the breakdown of collagen in the skin slowly picks up speed. The skin now needs a little more and more intensive care, especially around the eyes, in order to maintain its elasticity and remain supple.
