Hazards of Excessive Intake of Coffee

Excess of everything is bad. Consuming too much caffeine is such a bad idea as it harms us in many ways. A lot of people are habitual of taking coffee before sleeping and after waking up in the morning. Here are the few harmful effects of caffeine according to different studies.

Increasing Blood Pressure:

The consumption of caffeine increases blood pressure. The rise in blood pressure remains for three hours after its consumption. Its consumption results in blockage of hormones that widened the different arteries. People who have an issue of low blood pressure should consume coffee to maintain their blood pressure level. It is also harmful to hypertension patients.

Inflictions on Heart:

Coffee is one of the most favorite beverages across the world and anyone can easily get addicted to its flavor. Regardless of its taste; caffeine has a lot of harmful effects on Heart. A large intake of coffee results in aortic stiffness and increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. Adults having hypertension, have a high risk of a heart attack. As discussed above; consuming caffeine in large amounts will also affect arteries.

Leads to Sleeplessness:

Many people love to have a cup of coffee at bedtime but it causes sleeplessness. Caffeine is very common in an insomniac person and its high consumption makes them sleepless and they get addicted to this sleeplessness cycle. Caffeine suppresses melatonin as it has a strong influence and important factor in the sleep away cycle. Its effects last in the human body for several hours. Do not consume more than 400mg of coffee in a day.

Risks for Diabetic Patient:

People having diabetes are at risk after consuming coffee as it affects blood sugar. It blocks the adenosine and its functioning. Adenosine plays an important role to recognize how much insulin the body makes. It also controls the response of cells. Coffee also makes a person sleepless which is also a factor that lowers insulin sensitivity.

Deteriorates Allergy Issues:

Many people are over-sensitive to caffeine molecules. It results in a different type of allergies in humans. Allergy causes many symptoms and effects on humans such as rashes, red bumps, swelling of mouth and body, swelling of lips and tongue, stomach issues and itchy lips or tongue. In some cases, it also causes hive and pain.

Disturbs the Stomach:

A large intake of coffee causes indigestion and stomach issues. Too much intake causes acid reflux as the muscle that connects the stomach to the esophagus allows the stomach acid to reach the esophagus as the opening is created after drinking coffee. It also causes heartburn, dyspepsia, and acid indigestion. These issues are also because of high acid in the stomach. Never drink coffee on an empty stomach as it acts as a poison and disturbs the stomach badly.

Damages Women Fertility:

Researches have shown that coffee lowers the fertility rate of women to about 27%. It lowers the chance of women getting pregnant. A large intake of coffee before conception week increases the risk of miscarriages. Coffee affects both men's or women's fertility and two caffeinated drinks a day increase the risk of miscarriage in women.

Miscellaneous Effects of Excessive Intake of Coffee:

Excessive use of coffee causes anxiety, dizziness, shakiness, headache, and abnormal heartbeat. Caffeine in coffee is a stimulant that overall effects health. In some cases, it affects your skin and causes acne or dry skin. If you have consumed a large amount of it then; drink a lot of water, go for a walk, and take a deep breath in fresh air to lower its effect.
