More than 80000 people succumb to the smoking-related diseases every year in England as per WHO. One in two smokers dies from smoking-related diseases. Moreover, on the consumption of 15 cigarettes, the mutation starts in the body. This is a mutation that leads to cancer. This shows the inflictions of smoking on the human body. Smoking is very dangerous for mankind. It not only affects the lungs and leads to lung cancer but it equally damages the brain, heart, throat, and circulation system of the body. The consumption of tobacco increases the risks of death due to tobacco-related diseases as well from the diseases that are not directly related to tobacco use.
Affects Blood Circulation:
The blood circulation is badly affected by the presence of the tar in cigarettes. When this tar enters the blood; it thickens the blood which in return increases the blood clotting. It also narrows the arteries and the oxygen-rich blood is hindered by these narrowed arteries to reach the heart. All these changes in the body are the result of excessive smoking.
Damages the Lungs:
Smoking is injurious to the lungs. In the start, lungs are damaged by the nicotine in the cigarette and later on, this leads to the deadly disease of lung cancer. According to the findings of WHO, a man who smokes a cigarette is 25 times more vulnerable to cancer as compared to the nonsmoking individual. This risk is even greater in the case of women. This is not the only suffering of smoking; it also leads to the asthma attack risk, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis.
Heart Diseases Issues:
The blood vessels, blood cells, and the heart are also exposed to the harms of smoking. The vessels especially the arteries are blocked by the tar and nicotine in the cigarette. This leads to many chronic diseases and even heart attacks. In case of a heart attack, a person is highly likely to meet death in multiple cases. The arteries moving towards the arms and legs are also narrowed and cause hindrance to blood flow. This is very dangerous for the health of a person.
Fertility Issues:
Smoking is poisonous for the fertility of an individual. It affects males as well as females. The reproductive system of a person is weakened by the excessive use of cigarettes. The males may have erectile dysfunction issues and lesser sperm count. This is because the reproductive system is affected by smoking. In the case of females, it will be difficult for a woman to get pregnant.
Pregnancy Complications:
Smoking is strictly proscribed for pregnant women. If a girl smokes while she is pregnant; the health of a baby is damaged severely and in a few cases, it may lead to death. In other cases, a woman may face pre-term delivery, lesser baby weight, the affected lungs of a baby, and sometimes infant mortality.
Risks of Type-2 Diabetes:
Excessive smokers are highly at risk of being diagnosed by Type-2 Diabetes. The smokers have 35 to 45% higher risks of suffering from Type-2 diabetes. Smoking also affects the overall health of a diabetic patient and paves the way for many other diseases because a diabetic patient has lesser immunity.
Affects the Eyesight:
The eyesight of an individual is colossally damaged by smoking. This is because smoking creates risks of macular and cataract degeneration. The other issues generate because of smoking are glaucoma and dry eyes. All these issues severely damage the eyesight.
