Robotics and its Rise in China

Robotics and its Rise in China

What is Robotics?

Robotics is a future of mankind and to be an inevitable part of human lives. It is an interdisciplinary achievement of Electronic engineering, Computer engineering, Electrical and Mechanical engineering. Since the inception of Robotics, it has worked side-by-side of humans to make things easier for humans. They are built to perform multiple tasks that were once done by humans. It is also helpful for us as it can save human lives in some doing some dangerous works.

History of Robots:

The concept of Robots is ancient but its maximum use started after the Industrial revolution. After the invention of electricity, the field of Robotics was further abridged and evolved. The concept of humanoid robots commenced in the 20th century. The robots replicating humans were deployed in factories to perform the functions of humans in few areas. China is considered as a pioneer of Robotics in contemporary time. The use of robots in China in a few fields is discussed below:

Robotics in China:

The Chinese robots are getting popular with every coming day. This is because of Industrial diversification and China’s policy of Made in China 2025. China has a similar vision for robotics future in China too. According to the International Federation of Robotics; China almost produces 30% of total robotics manufacturing around the world. Many home-built robots in China are taking-over the blue collars job in China, and white-collar jobs too in a few cases. Life risking jobs are already taken over by robots to save human lives from dangers.

The Robot Anchor in China:

The Xinhua news agency has already introduced the first anchor robots. These robots are the first of their kind. These cloned anchors are the product of artificial intelligence and are developed by the news agency. These robots are designed to deliver news in English and Chinese, for these languages are typed in their systems. The anchors’ expressions, voices, and lips movements are replicated from the real anchors.

A Window Cleaning Robot:

When it comes to cleaning the windows of sky-scrappers, it is done by the humans at the expense of risking their lives. China has amazed the world with its window cleaning robots. These robots are ten times more efficient by the workers who used to do it. The best thing about these robots is they save the lives of humans.

Police Assistance Robots:

China has already introduced robots that can perform multiple police works. They carry facial recognition technology that can help them identify people. They can even arrest criminals. They have already placed robot sheriffs at numerous stations in China. These robots can work indifference to the light. It doesn’t matter to them whether it is dark or too bright. These can also plan their petrol routes automatically.

The Robot Teachers:

The robot named Keeko was launched in 2018. This robot is designed to teach specifically to the children under the age of 7. This robot is installed to read poems, solve math problems, and even singing and dancing. These features are installed in Keeko to keep the session interactive with the children.

The Robot Doctors:

A few years back, no one has even thought of robots doing the work of doctors. But, it is now a reality, for China has made a robot Xiao YI who has passed China’s medical licensing exam by 96 points. The brain of Xiao Yi is filled with medical textbooks. It is also capable of learning clinical experiences and case diagnosis from experts. Few robots in PLA hospital of China have already performed a few surgeries. They can also do the dental work too.

Waiters Robots:

A restaurant in Beijing already uses the services of robots to perform multiple actions. This is a very unique restaurant and certainly, customers like to witness such experiences. One of the reasons as told by the management is; a waiter in China costs too high: An average waiter in China costs about $1400 a month. This arrival of robots can verily reduce the costs for the businessman too.
